Our plans for Stansfeld Park

This will be the UK’s first indoor-outdoor science education centre specifically for primary-aged children, their teachers and families.

The innovation centre will provide much-needed office space for start- up and grow-on companies and entrepreneurs working in science and technology.

This managed urban wildspace will provide opportunities for young people to experience the natural world and learn what biodiversity is all about as well as for enjoyment by the wider community.

ADP

We have been working with local architects ADP on the design of the new building, in consultation with the local community, local government teams and other Trust stakeholders. Design experts, Whitefire, are advising on the development content of the new education centre to create exciting hands-on science exhibits and experiences to engage young people in STEM subjects.

We are keen to begin the rejuvenation of Stansfeld Park as soon as possible but, as with all such projects, we must adhere to a rigorous planning process. To read our planning proposal and to look at the full design plans, click here. In parallel, we are also sharing our plans with the local community. If successful, we hope to have the innovation and education centres open by Autumn 2018.
