Enterprise
We support early-stage science and innovation companies.
By providing affordable office space to start-up science and technology businesses through the Oxford Centre for Innovation (OCFI.) These businesses are surrounded by like-minded people facing similar challenges.
By offering business support through projects such as [email protected] Zone and The Pod.
We reinvest our income to support the science and innovation community and encourage entrepreneurship through investment in our own programmes and those of like-minded organisations.
For example, we support Science Oxford, Venturefest Oxford, The Basement (Oxford Hackspace) and the Oxfordshire Science Festival.
Our independence and sustainability means that we are able to be responsive to the evolving needs and challenges of the science and innovation community in Oxfordshire and the wider region.
The Trust supported the development and publication of the Oxford Innovation Engine Report (2013) and its updated version in 2016, the iCapital innovation bid and the NESTA Join the dots research project.
We recognise and reward potential and excellence in entrepreneurship
For example we run The Oxford Trust Enterprise Awards scheme, which celebrates the next generation of great innovators, encourages networking and helps to raises the profile of careers in STEM and entrepreneurship.
We inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators by building networks between businesses and schools.
The Science Oxford Schools team run a highly successful programme called STEM World of Work which provides advice, work experience and opportunities for secondary school students. It also runs the STEM Ambassadors programme, bringing together professionals working in science organisations and schools.
