Finalists for The Oxford Trust Enterprise Awards

July 6, 2018

After much cogitation, multiple glasses of cold water and a very tasty lemon tart, the judging panel for this year’s Enterprise Awards arrived at consensus over the shortlist for our prestigious annual celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The awards, which are run in partnership with Venturefest Oxford and sponsored by Barclays, Marks & Clerk, Advanced Oxford and Triteq, recognise entrepreneurs and start-ups who are just starting out on their journey to success as well as established science and tech businesses and individuals who are making an impact on the regional economy. The awards have been running since 2005 and have previously showcased future high-growth companies such as Oxbotica, Immunocore and Adaptix.

This year’s award categories are:

  • Triteq Young Entrepreneur Award – recognising and celebrating young founders (under 40) of science and technology companies in Oxfordshire.
  • Advanced Oxford Technology Breakthrough Award – this new category highlights a product or technology that could be a game changer in the field that it operates.
  • Barclays Award for Innovation – is given to a company that has already spotted an opportunity in the tech market and has successfully created a business that meets the need and benefits wider society and the economy.
  • The Oxford Trust Outstanding Achievement Award – celebrating an entrepreneur who has made an outstanding contribution to innovation and society during their lifetime and has had a major impact on enterprise and economy.

The judging panel, which consisted of award sponsors and industry experts, was asked to consider applications for the Triteq Young Entrepreneur Award and Barclays Award for Innovation.

We had a strong list of applicants for both awards – the breadth of innovative people, ideas and products that Oxfordshire is producing is really quite outstanding. This made it extremely difficult for the judges to shortlist entries but we can now announce the finalists for the 2018 Awards:

He has held managing director positions at BAE Systems, Vislink and EADS. He holds board positions with The Oxford Trust, Stadium plc, and OUI. Awards will be presented by individual sponsors.

Congratulations to all those shortlisted!
