About our innovation centres
The Oxford Trust operates the Oxford Centre for Innovation in the city centre and the Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington.
We have been running innovation centres for 40 years as we believe science and tech start-ups should have access to cost-effective and flexible space and business support to help them thrive right from the start – from a virtual office, to co-working space, small business space or fully-fledged business and R&D lab space.
We have seen dozens of companies – including Oxford Computer Consultants, Navenio, Perspectum, Mirada Medical and more recently Ultromics, Infleqtion, Learning with Experts and Habitat Energy – flourish in our innovation centres, and we hope to see many more expand and grow.
In turn, we are proud that the income from our centres is reinvested into our STEM education and engagement programmes to inspire the next generation of scientists and entrepreneurs.

Business events
We run tailored networking and knowledge events, such as the Exit Right series, for companies in our centres. Developed by The Oxford Trust, Barclays Eagle Labs and Oxford Innovation Space, Exit Right is an expert-led event series for founders and senior leadership teams to support start-ups looking to successfully grow and exit their businesses.
Joint site access
When you join one of the Trust’s innovation centres, you have access to both our sites – the Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington and the Oxford Centre for Innovation in the city centre – giving you additional locations for meetings, co-working space and becoming part of a wider business community.
Supporting the next generation
The income from our innovation centres is reinvested in supporting the next generation of scientists and entrepreneurs through our STEM education and engagement programmes. Run by Science Oxford, our programmes aim to lay the foundations of science learning and build science capital.

Escalator support programme
The Oxford Trust supports fledgling tech start-ups and spinouts through their Escalator Support Programme. The programme is directed at businesses that really need financial support before they raise venture capital or become revenue generating. This support is in the form of discounts on space in our centres, 1:1 business support, and access to an angel investment network.

Advanced Oxford works with senior leaders from the area’s major knowledge-intensive businesses to support the long-term development of the Oxford region as a desirable place to live and work.
Headington Science Cluster
The Headington Science Cluster is a group of organisations, including The Oxford Trust, that have joined together to support innovation in digital health and life sciences in the Headington area.
TheHill
Part of the University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, innovation catalyst TheHill supports digital health innovation adoption in the NHS to improve efficiency and effectiveness, empower staff and benefit patients.
Barclays Eagle Labs
In partnership with The Oxford Trust, Barclays runs Eagle Labs with co-working space and business support at our Wood Centre for Innovation.
