Emma Pughe

Training and Development Lead

Working closely with primary school teachers across the region, Emma leads Science Oxford’s teacher continuing professional development (CPD) programme. She runs CPD courses both at the Science Oxford Centre and in school, and facilitates professional development and collaboration through teacher network meeting and primary teacher conferences. In addition, Emma delivers training for science leaders through the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) programme, supporting schools to strengthen and enrich their science provision.

Emma holds a BA in Education from Canterbury Christ Church University and has over 10 years of experience leading science in primary schools across Buckinghamshire. Prior to joining Science Oxford, she led a science teacher network in the county and worked with PSQM as a hub leader.

Emma is passionate about ensuring all young people have access to high-quality science education and recognises its vital role in inspiring the next generation of scientists. She is dedicated to supporting teachers in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, helping them navigate the challenges of the education sector and continue the invaluable work they do in classrooms every day.
