Linden and Aspen Buildings

The Linden and Aspen Buildings form the two “wings” of the Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington, offering office space, R&D labs, co-working and a virtual office facility. The Linden Building is currently home to nine science and tech start-ups and the Aspen Building will offer additional laboratory and grow-on space from summer 2026. 

Linden Building

The Linden Building was opened in 2019 and offers all-inclusive leased and licensed offices and Class II R&D labs to suit life science and deep tech companies.  Admin and business support comes as standard. There is also a shared facilities lab with key equipment such as an ice machine, liquid nitrogren, and access to a lab supervisor.

Barclays Eagle Labs are based in the Linden Building and provide co-working space, business support, mentoring and networking events.

Clients based at the Linden Building have access to the on-site cafe, meeting and conference facilities.

Aspen Building

The Aspen Building is planned to come on-stream in Summer 2026. It will offer two floors of flexible, customisable spaces. It will offer a total of 16,684 sq ft (1550 sq m) over two floors of flexible, customisable leased laboratory and office space for start-ups and grow-on companies in the deep tech and life science sectors. Clients based in the Aspen Building will have access to all the facilities in the Linden Building including the café, events, as well as meeting and conference facilities. 

 The Aspen Building’s interior can be designed to accommodate individual clients’ needs with some custom design of the internal layout and bespoke facilities for labs and offices. The east side of the building is for bioscience only, with the west side able to host chemistry (direct vent) requirements. Building work is planned to start in Spring 2025.

Our sister centre

Oxford Centre for Innovation

Our sister centre, the Oxford Centre for Innovation, is based at Blue Boar Court on Alfred Street in central Oxford. The centre also has affordable work and meeting spaces for start-up and early stage companies specialising in science and technology, close to the University of Oxford’s science facilities, the Said Business School and social entrepreneurship centres. Facilities at our city centre site are available to all companies working in our centres.
