Science Oxford Centre
The Science Oxford Centre is the UK’s first indoor-outdoor science education centre specifically for early years and primary-aged children, their teachers, and families to provide quality, experiential hands-on science. We give children the opportunity to experience the excitement of investigation, experimentation and discovery through activities which engage and challenge them. A the core of the Centre is the Exploration Zone, with twenty specifically-designed exhibits designed to encourage high-level thinking and engagement in children. There’s also a classroom space for workshops, a theatre for shows, an outdoor Water Lab open from April to October, and 15-acres of woodland, ponds and grassland to explore. Our skills-based approach underpins all our workshops, shows and activities in the centre and outside in the woodland.
Located in Headington, on the eastern edge of Oxford, the Science Oxford Centre is open to primary schools across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and the surrounding region. It is open for school visits during the week and we run Family Days every Saturday as well as monthly STEM Clubs, including Nature Club, Creative Computing Club and Science Club for ages 5-12.
