Venturefest Oxford is an annual event that brings together innovators, investors and entrepreneurs from across the region to make connections that lead to new investments, new businesses and new ideas in the high-tech sector. The Oxford Trust helped to set up the original Venturefest Oxford in 1999 as part of its objective to build networks within the local innovation ecosystem. This model was used to set up the national Venturefest network.
The Oxford Trust still plays an active role in Venturefest. This year the event will be held on 11th September 2019 at Oxford Brookes University and will focus on inward investment and outward growth. This will broaden the programme to include special sessions on three of the regions targeted by the new UK Research and Innovation body – USA, China and India. Alongside this, there will be sessions around the Grand Challenges identified by the UK Industrial Strategy: AI and data; the Ageing Society; Clean Growth; and Future Mobility.
