The Oxford Trust sponsors Oxfordshire Business Awards 2024

January 18, 2024

The Oxford Trust, along with Oxfordshire Business First, is pleased to be sponsoring the Emerging Tech Award as part of the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2024.

For 28 years, Oxfordshire Business Awards (OXBA) has been recognising, rewarding and celebrating the excellence of Oxfordshire-based companies. The Awards are established as a benchmark for excellence in today’s competitive business environment.

The annual OXBA awards companies in a broad range of categories from the Radio Oxfordshire Charity and Community Award to the Science Park Innovation Award to the Green Award. Past winners have included now well-known Oxfordshire names including Darcica Logistics, Oxford Dynamics, Adaptix, Seacourt and Restore.

The Oxford Trust is sponsoring a new category, the Emerging Tech Business Award. This award is open to any new technology start-up company with potential to scale. Companies must be between one and three years and based in Oxfordshire. Successful entrants will be able to demonstrate that their business purpose is to bring technology products or services to market – either by delivery of new tech products or services or delivery of existing technology products or services in new ways.

The judges for the Trust’s award are Nicki Campling, Director of Innovation and Operations for The Oxford Trust; Matt Lucas, Lab Manager for Barclays Eagle Labs, based at the Trust’s centres; and Wendy Tindsley, Innovation Director for Oxford Innovation Space, managers of a portfolio of innovation centres across the UK, including the Trust’s Wood Centre for Innovation and the Oxford Centre for Innovation.

We welcome entries from start-ups across Oxfordshire for the Emerging Tech Award. The judges are looking for companies that have uniqueness in their field, execution and implementation of their tech, market potential, financial health, a good team and, of course, scalability. The winner of this award will be a company that has shown a strong product, a well-researched go-to-market strategy and a strong organisational culture.

The awards are now open for entries today and will close on 11th March. The judges will visit the shortlisted companies in March and April and the award ceremony is on 7th June in the John Henry Brookes Building at Oxford Brookes in Headington.

We are looking forward to getting lots of interesting entries!
